It’s October! Autumn – crunchy leaves, colder nights, hot chocolate and of course pumpkin picking!

The sunflowers are all gone and now it’s time to pick them pumpkins. Whether you are going just to get a pic for the ‘gram, to decorate your house for Halloween or to cook up a big batch of pumpkin soup here’s a list of the best places to go pumpkin picking in Hampshire.

Rogate Pumpkin Patch

Normally a grand event due to regulations this year Rogate Pumpkin Patch are scaling it down and have simplified the pick your own experience. They will still have haystacks to climb, corn to run around in and barrel rides alongside a few Halloween decors.

Open: 17th-31st October daily 10am-4pm.

Price: £2 per person, under 2’s free. Ticket only entry, tickets go on sale 1st October at 5pm.

Located just outside of Petersfield, Durleighmarsh Farm Shop has a wide range of PYO. They regularly update their Facebook page to keep you updated on their available crops. No information up online as of yet about their pumpkin picking but I’m sure it will be up soon.

Open: Mon-Sat 9am-5pm, Sun 10am-3pm

Bourne Valley PYO

In Andover and home to a number of PYO crops, Bourne Valley PYO will be doing a pumpkin patch this year alongside a one way socially distanced ‘Secret Woodland Walk Spooktacular’ aimed at children under 10. This will be open 4pm-8pm on the 24th/30th and 31st. You need to book for the walk but not for pumpkin picking.

Steve Harris PYO

After their first successful year of growing sunflowers Steve Harris PYO will be opening for a pumpkin patch. During the sunflower season they allowed photographers to book sessions for private shoots, unsure whether they will do this for pumpkin picking but they may do!

Fordingbridge Pumpkin Pastures

With other 30 different types of pumpkins are squash and over 20 acres you can spend a lot of your time at Fordingbridge Pumpkin Pastures searching for the perfect pumpkin. They will also have pumpkin carving, crafts, slingshots and a barrel train available. If you are wanting to make something yummy with your pumpkin they are displaying lots of recipes and even have a book you can buy to take home with you.

Sunnyfields Farm

Having to make their usual event smaller Sunnyfields Farm are still hoping to bring smiles to people’s faces through pumpkin picking. No trailer rides or cafe this year however they have mentioned on their website there will be the few odd surprises. The only pumpkin patch around that is open late night, last entry is at 7.30pm for the 9pm close where you can pick your pumpkins in their atmospheric lights for a special experience.
